COME
March 2020; We are back HOME! Circumstances and God’s direction have brought us back to our original neighborhood, home. Leaving our neighborhood and friends was the biggest downfall to moving to the HOB compound. While the house was larger, nicer, we missed our friends and the old neighborhood terribly. We have made improvements to this place by adding 3 outdoor showers and 3 toilet/sink room

THE MISSION HOUSE

– We live in the nice village of Montrouis, pronounced “MooWee”. We call it a village and that makes it sound like maybe a few hundred people. Montrouis actually has about 14,000 residents, though our immediate neighborhood has about 200 families.
– The house sits right in the middle of the Haitian homes. It is a great way to see them in their everyday lives and to get a feel for how they live and what they have to go through just to get through the day. We feel that we have quickly developed a closer, more personal relationship with the Haitians living right there with them.
– “Feed My Sheep is getting new “digs”. Beginning 2017 we will be in this upstairs apartment (indicated by yellow/white arrow). Teams will be housed on the second floor (indicated by red circle). Guest bathrooms are at the end of the second story hall. There are separate Men’s and Women’s BR, each having 2 toilets, 3 shower stalls and two sinks. The kitchen/dining hall is on the first floor. This house is located only about 1/4 mile across the street. Many have seen it in the past. It is on the same property as Woods’ school. However, we will have to increase our Room and Board from $30 PER DAY to $40 PER DAY. Room and Board covers a BIG breakfast and lunch and a lite supper. It also includes transportation to and from the airport and local running around.”
TEAM PHOTOS
Update pics from Dr. Papperman’s team from Cape May Area, NJ March 2016
Dr. Tom and his nurse wife, Debi, did 4 separate medical clinics where they De-Wormed the children and treated for scabies as well as other illnesses that came to them. There was one little boy that was brought to him with a severe problem in his private area that surely would have killed him soon had Dr. Tom not been able to treat him. ‘Kudos’ to SueAnn for getting in touch with medical friends stateside to diagnose and find treatment options. Thanks to the prayers that went up for the fortitude and Gods hands on Dr. Tom’s hands as he worked. By the next morning the boy was MUCH better. PTL!!!
This team had so much funding donated by friends, co workers and church family, as well as their own families, that they came and purchased 40 + bags of rice and 35 + bags of beans and handed them out to the orphanages. FMS helps destitute families. SueAnn and Gail bought bags and divided them up to help even more families. They also did a party with Garden Hope of Children and the kids had a blast.
Also, they had donations for 12 goats to give away to families. And they also spread so much love to this neighborhood from children to adults. Sunday after lunch they walked the neighborhood praying for individuals. They had MANY victories that afternoon. Praise God!
Elmer UM NJ 2007
This was our very first team. They came 2 weeks after we moved into our new mission home. It was VERY primitive for them. Our trucks we were shipping in with all our supplies to set up house had been delayed in shipping. No comforts of home for them. Thanks to all of you for being such good sports.
Garden City UM. 2009
This team is from Jacksonville, Fla. They came with youth and they painted the inside of our downstairs part of the house. Plus, they helped by taking pictures of the sponsored kids.
Church of the Harvest, TN
This is the team from Tenn. Church of the Harvest. They have come twice. They have done VBS, game/fun day at an orphanage, bought and delivered rice, helped with medical clinics.
This was one of the first Pa. teams. Most of them were from Church of the Brethren in Lititz or surrounding churches. Dr. Bill did clinics several days while others cleaned up the property for the vocational building. They spent their last day at Mulin Su Mer.
This was our home church High Springs UM. Hard to see them all, but they came as Vision Seekers and they did VBS for the neighbor kids.
This is Kim Myers, she is Richard’s sister. She came in and had money to purchase rice for several needy families. This was her first trip and it was also to just see what FMS is doing so she could go home and report to her church the blessings that God is pouring down in Haiti.
